Graphics and Design

This paragraph aims to highlight my familiarity with graphics and design as well as other digital technologies for displaying.

Microsoft Paint

A pixelated map of an Island
Image created through Microsoft Paint

This pixel art map was designed through Microsoft Paint as it was intended to be a simple first attempt at a basic editing software. The result was an awesome looking pixelated Pokemon island.

Adobe Photoshop

Sun Tzu quote saying "Build your armies brick by brick" Image created through Adobe Photoshop

This inspirational quote was designed hastily on Photoshop as a quick joke. The image utelises layers and frames in order to have the outer brick wall surrounding the quote. Without Photoshop, this layering would not become transparent and would block the image from being visable.

Microsoft Publisher

The below is an example of basic use of Microsoft Publisher where this brochure utelises the intuitive formating and guidelines from the application. This is the same for the business cards, which with the help of the guidelines, were easy to produce and print. The use of Publisher was also another new application as it was another Microsoft Suite software that I haden't tried.

Adobe Animate

My knowledge of Adobe Animate is very basic and bare bones as I have little experience with using a specialised application for animation.

The example above was an attempt at following a a tutorial on how to use tweening, a process where you set the path and destination of the entities and the program moves them by itself.

Other Software

Audacity

Audio mixing is another form of editing where the knowledge is bare bones.

A picture of 3 different sound waves

The Image above depicts 3 different tones generated by Audacity.

  • The first tone is an example of a standard tonal wave.
  • The second tone is a mix of two tones combining into one.
  • The third tone is a representation of what digital audio looks and sounds like. The major difference is the fact that instead of curved waves, the audio is infact in square 1's and 0's.

Databases
The development of databases is a key component to any IT course as you develop the skills to form relations between Forms, Tables, Queries, and Reports. Databases are one of the most pivotil components of any information system as data is constantly being transformed and entred into the system.

Bookings Database

This database was created as a medium difficulty database that emulates a ticket system for Qantas Airlines. This means allowing users to book tickets and choose seats on a plane, without having double bookings or the same results. The Database also includes a variety of Reports giving statistics and feedback on the seats booked.

Convertible Cars

This database was designed to provide insight into how a company would manage its members and their information and details. The project was to develop a database for a car insurance company, meaning that it would include features such as policy renewal, or loyalty rewards.

Website Designs

Throughout the many school assesment tasks, a multitude of websited have been created in order to efficiently depict large amounts of content and material. In this instance, a github site can help teach valuable information on HTML aswell as how processes function.

Websites made by me:

A pixelated island Dnalsi Island
This website was made as part of a group project. The website demonstrates some of the aspects of combining multimedia formats. This was created through Google Sites as it needed to have integrations for Google Forms and other documents.

The NAB Logo Study Case on NAB
This website was part of an IPT assesment task, where an information technology company had to be analysed and studied. The website was built with Google Sites as before this project, I had minimal experience with using the software. The site demonstrates researching ability and IT knowledge of the COASTPD process.

The Seige of Leningrad
The NAB Logo This site was developed for a History assesment task on the Siege of Leningrad. The site was developed on Weebly.com as I had previous experience with using this editor. The websites main primary use was for reasearch, with lots of diagrams and photos included with text.
